Schooners FAME and VIRGINIA

Schooners FAME & VIRGINIA the orginal FAME was built in Gloucester as a fishing schooner. During the War of 1812 became a privateer capturing at least 21 prizes before being wrecked in the Bay of Fundy in 1814. The orginal VIRGINIA was a pilot schooner built in 1916, used to transfer pilots on and off ships moving into and out of Hampton Roads, Virginia
