"Queen of the Windjammers" latest photo-impression on canvas of the Gloucesterman ADVENTURE outward bound from Boothbay Harbor, Maine. ADVENTURE was built 1926 in Essex, Massachusetts, 121.6 feet in length and 24.5 feet in breadth. She was one of the famed Gloucester Grand Banks fishermen until 1954 when she found a second life in the passenger trade sailing out of Rockland and later Camden, Maine. Sailed as a windjammer and became known as the "Queen of the Windjammers" in the passenger trade until 1988 when she was donated to the City of Gloucester. Today ADVENTURE is nearing a complete restoration and will soon sail once again. For additional information go to Schooner Adventure home website.
