Worlds Largest Barque
Launched in 1914, Norway’s tall ship HNoMS Statsraad Lehmkuhl is the world’s largest three-masted barque. The 95-year-old ship is used to train cadets from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy. With 50 sails and an old-fashioned rig-system, the tall ship does not carry advanced computer technology, electric engines or hydraulic systems. Save The CITY OF ADELAIDE
MORE than 60 prominent South Australians have signed an open letter to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, calling on him to save the historic ship City of Adelaide. The group is trying to save the ship, which is the oldest clipper of its type in the world. It is currently sitting on a slipway in Scotland and is at imminent risk of destruction.
